As first football club in Denmark Viborg FF started the collection and upcycling of spent coffee grounds. This is part of the clubs overall ambition of being a green frontrunner and to set new standards within the football industry.

The Danish Football Superleague club Viborg FF wants to change the fact that we utilize less than 1 % of the nutritional value in coffee.
Together with Circular Coffee Community and Daka Refood the football club is now collecting and upcycling their spent coffee grounds into biogas and fertilizers. By this, we are converting methane gas into biogas and utilizing the nutritious masses that Danish farmers can use as fertilizers.

Currently, a system is established, and coffee grounds is integrated with Daka Refoods collecting system.
