The purpose of the project was to establish and test a solution for a recyclable container for coffee beans, as well as uncovering the market for possible buyers of the coffee grounds.

Through the innovation process, the logistic set-up was identified and matched with potential commercial partners for further processing and commercialisation.

The project conducted the following activities:

1. Investigate and gain insight into current packaging solutions, materials, as well as requirements and criteria for a recycling container.

2. Insight and understanding of the present and future value chain, as well as partner/user behaviour and reception of a reusable packaging solution.

3. Testing of container solution and identification of possible barriers in relation to scaling up.

4. Mapped and contacted a number of buyers of coffee grounds.
