The first online event within Circular Coffee Community
The global coffee industry is a massive and largely unfair business with inherent sustainability issues. Today, we make use of less than 1% of the nutritional value of the coffee plant. A lot of potentials are wasted, and that needs to be changed.
But how can we turn coffee waste into a valuable resource?
On April 22nd, 2022 we hosted an event focusing on the new superfood cascara, which is the antioxidant-rich pulp and skin of the coffee berry.
With inspiring talks by Tobias Lau from Beyond Coffee and Silvia Torres, who leads Circular Economy projects for the Hanns R. Neumann Stiftung, we discussed the need and possibilities for a circular transformation within coffee. Also, we explored the power of collaborations and why we must team up to make a change.
